ACAL, in collaboration with Ms. Liliane Baaklini, is conducting a new training seminar entitled Fire awareness and underwriting. The training will take place on the 12th and 13th of February 2024 between 01:00 PM and 04:00 PM online via MS Teams.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
1) Understand the Fire Triangle and how fires start.
2) Identify common ignition, fuel and oxygen sources
3) Understand the five stages of fire.
4) Understand heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation).
5) Understand some fire terminology (fire load, propagation hazard, flash point, auto-ignition temperature, self-combustion, backdraft, rollover, flashover...)
6) Recognize the different classes of fire and their related fire extinguishers.
7) Identify the underwriting considerations to assess the fire risk in relation to property damage and bodily injury:
a. Assess the general causes of fire: People, processes, heating, lighting & electricity, waste, materials.
b. Assess the fire load & propagation hazard (fire compartmentation and fire rating).
c. Assess COPE info (construction, occupancy, protection and exposure)
d. Assess the risk of bodily injury.
